The Purchasing Process

The following list gives a general idea of the steps involved in purchasing a home or property:
- Select a professional real estate agent to represent you.
- Get pre-qualified through a Mortgage Broker or Bank.
- Create a list of "wants" and "needs" and discuss with your Realtor.
- Find your new home.
- Ask your Realtor to provide you with comparable sold prices of similar homes in the area.
- Make an offer to Purchase the home. (We can walk you through this process and ensure that specific clauses are included for your sole benefit)
- Select your Lawyer (We can recommend a few).
- Resolve any conditions written in the offer to purchase. (Home Inspection, Financing etc.)
- Arrange for household insurance at least two weeks before possession.
- Meet with lawyer before closing to sign all necessary paperwork.
- Transfer money on closing day, take possession.
- Enjoy your new Home!
